Nicholas Schmid is a daydreamer. Somehow, writing those dreams down has turned him into an AFI grad and multi-award winning writer. His action comedy, KOI, is currently in development with LB Entertainment (May December, The Apprentice) while his political thriller, HARE, won the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards for Drama and the AFI William J. Fadiman Award. Additionally, Nicholas’s features have won the ScreenCraft Action and Adventure Contest and been named semifinalists in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship and Austin Film Festival. On the TV side, his pilot won the AFI Writers Room Ready Award which earned him a development mentorship with showrunner David Shore (HOUSE, THE GOOD DOCTOR). A Canadian, Nicholas is based in New York, though he often finds himself missing Celsius and the rest of the metric system. He likes long hikes and short naps, hot paprika and cold nights, big dogs and small spaces. And telling stories. Telling stories most of all.
