I am an experienced, award-winning graphic designer operating a design company in Wellington. Originally from the United States, I came to New Zealand in 1991 and have lived in Wellington since gaining permanent resident status in 1995. After years of teaching at the tertiary level, I moved into the world of prepress and production, then built a freelance career as part of Parkview Motorcamp, a collective of ad and design creatives from Saatchi & Saatchi Wellington. We worked with clients such as Powershop, the Retirement Commission (Sorted), Weta Digital, and Mac's Brewery, where I served as Art Director for five years. In 2016 I founded Cicala Design to specialise in consumer brands and packaging, coordinating a network of like-minded freelancers to deliver branding, packaging and visual identity work for NZ brands including Whittaker’s, Havana Coffee, Monteith’s and Tuatara.
