I am first and foremost a storyteller and story lover, whether those are told through books, movies, games, or live entertainment. I graduated from Lake Forest College with a BFA in Creative Writing and Theater in 2014 and earned my MFA in Themed Entertainment Design at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in 2026. My storytelling career started at Booklist, the American Library Association’s book-review magazine, where I refined my writing, editing, and analytical skills. After a decade of working in the publishing industry, however, I realized I wanted to develop stories beyond the written word and create in-person experiences, which is what brought me to SCAD. As an MFA student, I participated in SCADpros, which are design studios sponsored by real clients, including Universal Creative, Paramount+, and the Vidalia Onion Museum. These experiences confirmed that I thrive in innovative, interdisciplinary environments. At SCAD, I also learned where I bring value to creative teams: WRITING & EDITING: In addition to my professional writing experience at Booklist, I’ve learned how to write scripts for live performances, games, and audiobooks/podcasts as well as loglines, nomenclature, story treatments/bibles, signage, marketing, internal documentation, etc., prioritizing the guest experience every step of the way. One of SCADpro’s account leads even called me the “Swiss Army Knife of Writing,” which I take as a huge compliment. PROJECT COORDINATION: At Booklist, I’ve coordinated communications among reviewers, editors, and publishers, and during SCADpros, I’ve facilitated ideation sessions, documented the team’s decisions from those sessions, and pitched those ideas to our client, revising as necessary and embodying servant leadership in the process. ART & DESIGN: The main programs I use are Photoshop, Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, and Sketchup, and I approach my designs with an illustrative and dramaturgical eye. The art & design side is the whole reason I came to SCAD, and I am eager to apply this knowledge to draft buildable designs and learn more in a hands-on environment. I thrive at synthesizing complex ideas and information, be it research, writing, or art. Please reach out if you’d like to craft worlds with me!
