Hi, I’m Sean Cartwright, an award-winning music video and commercial director based in Toronto. I focus on powerful narratives with dynamic visuals and a bold, contemporary aesthetic, bringing a thoughtful and conscious understanding to each project. My work centers on authentic fashion, lifestyle, and sports content, and it also includes graphic design projects and multi-channel audio/visual installations that have been showcased at festivals and galleries around the world, including 1.4 Awards, The Telly Awards, Berlin Commercial, Nuit Blanche, iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards, L.I.M.P.A., Austin Music Video Festival, Bergen International Film Festival, AVA Digital Awards, Hermes Creative Awards, Beyond the Short, and Canadian Cinematography Awards. I’m currently developing “After-Laughter,” an atmospheric live-action short film based on a graphic novel by French artist Jonathan Djob Nkondo. I craft minimalist narratives that balance everyday life and childhood innocence with the exploration of things that make us human, delivering carefully art-directed pieces with muted color palettes that feel honest and beautiful.
