I’m Mikhail Somov, an editor with over 9 years of experience in creating media content such as short films, music videos, advertisements, and video art. I spent my childhood in Ekaterinburg, the capital of Russian street art, and in 2020 I moved to Moscow to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Film and Video at the HSE Art and Design School.
With a foundation in editing, directing, scriptwriting, and producing I have led over 40 projects to completion. My work has been recognized both nationally and internationally, with film festival awards and exhibitions. In my latest project, I assembled a VFX team of over 90 international CGI artists who worked on projects such as Dune: Part Two and Iron Man 3.

The story from the music video “On the Other Side of the River” is based on the experience of one of the creators of the soundtrack. When he had been listening to music, he did not understand what had been happening around him, but as soon as his ears opened to the world, the charm of the surrounding sounds opened to him.
In this project, I wrote a script, fully brought the team, found locations, solved organizational matters, directed, and distributed the video. Moreover, I edited and sound-designed this film as well as made a CG fully by myself.
