Hello, world! My name is Hanna and I am a young artist from Ukraine.
I have been painting and creating for as long as I can remember. Although my artistic journey has had many phases of self-acceptance and complete transformation, art has always stayed with me – it has sustained my breath and my love for life.
My Skills and My Journey:
*I am 80% self-taught and 20% formally trained. As a child, I was addicted to paper, a black or blue pen, and the stories in my head that flowed onto the paper. Eventually, there were so many sheets that I had to give them to my grandfather so he could use them to light the fireplace.
*As a teenager, I sometimes went to art school on weekends. But honestly, I didn’t like it. The focus wasn’t on imagination, but only on technique and constantly drawing the same still lifes or cityscapes.
*University_Phone details not available. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_) was a difficult point in my artistic life. We were taught academic, classical drawing. Light, shadow, space, perspective – I was good at all of that and got good grades, but I didn’t want to learn it. When I dropped out of university, I also stopped drawing for several years.
*Spring 2024. I tried studying as a guest student at the KHM in Cologne. Due to depression and self-doubt, I quickly gave up on the studies and my project ideas.
*Autumn 2024.
I bought an illustration course, learned Procreate and Adobe Illustrator. I started creating digital illustrations, searched for my style, created a portfolio on Behance, and contacted brands for potential collaborations. To this day, I work with illustration.
*Recently, I had my first exhibition.
It was actually an art market, but for me, it was a real exhibition. For the first time, I was ready to show my art to people – without fear, but with a feeling of wholeness and connection.
*When drawing, I mostly work with very different materials – I love to experiment. But my favorites will always remain watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and pastel crayons. I am very good with colors and I manage to combine them harmoniously into a whole. I prefer colored drawings more than monochrome or black and white ones.
I am grateful for every step of my artistic journey. I believe that difficulties don’t come without a reason. And I believe that art is the best remedy when things hurt. I want to share this knowledge. I know that I have enough strength to maintain my inner light and use it to help others. I can’t give anything new – I can only remind people of what is already present within each of them.
Thank you for your attention!
