Sean Schafer Hennessy

I’m Sean Schafer Hennessy, a composer and trumpeter whose work spans concert music, jazz, and film scoring. From winning competitions at a young age to becoming a protege of the renowned Wynton Marsalis, I have built a career bridging classical, jazz, and cinematic storytelling. I’ve given concerto performances with major orchestras, appeared on Carnegie Hall stages, and shared music through broadcasts and educational initiatives, always aiming to move audiences with heartfelt melodies and expressive storytelling.

I trained at Northwestern University and the University of Southern California, where I pursued ad hoc film scoring and trumpet performance, and I now compose in Hollywood. My film scores aim for beauty, humor, suspense, and jazz-infused energy, while my concert works strive for rich orchestration and emotional clarity. I continue to conduct and perform in my own pieces, connecting listeners to music with depth and soul.
