I’m Stephan Boehme, a composer based in Greater Stuttgart. I work across symphony orchestra and choir, film and moving image, interactive media and games, and live/staged formats—writing music that feels true to what an audience experiences. Trained in film music and composition, I also bring hands-on orchestral experience from my earlier years as a professional flautist, and I often build the full sonic world myself from sketch to final mix.
In my studio, technology and craft come together: I compose, record, sound-design, edit, mix, and master in-house using professional orchestral and synth/SFX libraries, plus custom-built sounds and my own recordings. A second strand of my work is directing and editing concert films (including their sound), aiming to present performers at their best and to align timing, rhythm, and emotion with the picture. Over decades, my approach has stayed the same—expanding the instrument rather than compromising the result.

The circle is the quiet geometry of life. It carries a completeness we often notice only when we pause: in the returning shape of the day, in the breath of the seasons, in the pulse of a nature that circles unceasingly and yet reinvents itself in every moment. Nothing repeats exactly, and still everything is held within an endless pattern of return and change — boundlessly imaginative, infinite, never the same. Every sunrise is familiar, and every sunrise is singular. Every wave comes back, and every wave draws a new line.
The mystery shows itself most clearly in the smallest structures: unremarkable processes that open and close, bonds that form, dissolve and return in another shape. These fine circles of time give our existence rhythm, an anchor, a sense of shelter. They remind us that change is not loss but the chance of a new balance.
Out of this movement a wide and hopeful space opens. If everything is part of a circle, then every beginning carries the promise of continuation. Every moment is a passage and a home at once.
In our twelve-part cycle we invite you to make these hidden circling forces visible and audible. Each movement turns the lens on a different aspect: an inner rhythm, a transformation, a phenomenon of nature, a breath of time. Each movement is a circle of its own — and together they form a weave of images and sounds in which the patterns surrounding us become perceptible.
So twelve musical circles of time open up: twelve perspectives on the whole, twelve paths leading us back to what carries us, transforms us, and lets us begin again.
