I’m a Los Angeles–based interior designer and stylist with over 30 years of experience creating high-end residential spaces. I lead Stephen Pappas Interiors, where I design homes that balance refined luxury with relaxed, livable elegance.
My background began in fashion styling in New York, including work with Carolina Herrera, before transitioning into interiors through the New York School of Interior Design. That editorial foundation shapes everything I do — spaces are composed, layered, and deeply personal.
I specialize in luxury residential design, renovation, and interior styling, sourcing distinctive antiques, art, lighting, and textiles while working closely with architects, contractors, and artisans to bring each project to life. Clients come to me for environments that feel timeless, curated, and tailored to how they live.

Stephen Pappas Interiors was engaged to style and furnish a Tom Kundig–designed residence for architectural photography and publication. The scope included sourcing, renting, installing, and styling furniture and décor to align with the architect’s vision and present the home at its highest level for camera and editorial use.

This project was created for a repeat client, the president of a major record label, who envisioned a sophisticated 1960s–70s Palm Springs–inspired retreat. We blended mid-century and modern furnishings with sculptural accessories and layered textures to create a home that feels both iconic and effortlessly livable.
Recently featured in LUXE Interiors + Design (Nov/Dec issue), this project contributed to Stephen Pappas Interiors being named a LUXE Gold List 2026 Honoree and a LUXE Partner.

A young couple, longtime friends, engaged Stephen Pappas Interiors to transform their newly purchased spec home. Through a modern classic approach, we redefined the architectural bones with layered textures and refined finishes, creating a cohesive flow and elevated, livable spaces designed for both everyday life and entertaining.

This Tehachapi, California home was being photographed for the monograph Tom Kundig Works. The existing interiors did not fully reflect the architect’s vision, so Stephen Pappas Interiors was engaged to furnish and style the residence for the shoot.
We sourced, rented, installed, and styled furniture and accessories to complement the architecture and enhance the visual narrative. The results were so successful that much of what we installed was ultimately purchased and kept by the homeowner.

This project was created for a client seeking enveloping comfort and timeless luxury. Stephen Pappas Interiors led a full renovation across multiple spaces, including the design and fabrication of custom furniture, along with the complete curation and styling of all décor, furnishings, and fittings.
