I'm the Art Director, Photographer, and Studio Owner behind Lark & Light Studio, a photography business serving families and schools across the greater Charlotte region. My signature approach — the First Flight Method — captures kids candidly and unposed, letting their real personalities lead the shot instead of forcing a smile. As a one-woman operation, I handle everything end to end: shooting, image editing, and Photoshop retouching, plus social media management and client galleries. I've delivered 1,800+ edited images and 400+ galleries in a single season without sacrificing quality or turnaround time. Whether you need a Director of Photography for a project, a photographer who actually gets kids, or an image editor who can move fast at volume — I bring the full package.

    Nate and Laila

Nate and Laila are two of my favorites from the Lincolnton High Band, and over the years, they and their families have become like family to me. Recently, they reached out with a fun idea: a 90’s-themed prom shoot.

We started at the Lincoln Cultural Center, which was technically closed, but serendipitously, the curator arrived and invited us to shoot inside. Nate and Laila, both active in theater, thrived in the dramatic, staged environment. From there, we moved downtown for some classic shots, and then wrapped up with a few edgier images in Nate’s car. It was nostalgic, creative, and such an honor capturing their vibrant personalities.

    Wolfpack Marching Band

I proudly wore the badge of “band mom,” not just for my son, who graduated in May 2025, but for every student who poured their hearts into this program.

As the unofficial band photographer, I’ve captured thousands of moments during early morning rehearsals, competitions, and performances, sharing them with students and families along the way. These photos tell a story of dedication, JOY, and community—and I’m now planning to compile them into a book to celebrate and preserve the magic of the LHS Band.
