Hi, I’m Christian Tapper, a Caribbean-American recording artist and producer based in Tampa/ NYC. I create and perform music as a vocalist, keyboardist, and DJ; I also write, record, mix, and master my own work under the stage name Johnny Champagne. I perform at venues ranging from Bowery Ballroom in NYC to the Straz Center in Tampa, and I lead a jazz band called Tha Banned as its keyboardist.
In addition to performing, I teach music production and piano, direct choirs, and score films. I combine studio craft with live performance, and I’m passionate about storytelling through sound and collaboration with diverse artists.

Oversaw and contributed to all of the sound production for MMM Films’ first documentary film, My Mother Mary. This documentary won Best Thesis 2022 from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
