    uniE608 Xbox – Halo Wars 2
This project displays some of my efforts at developing animation from a static image. Having worked with Microsoft on other projects, I was selected to develop digital advertisements for Halo Wars 2, the new Xbox game. Although the project could have been quite basic, I applied animation to each layer of the image to create movement and a sense of depth. Secondly, I added smoke and embers to the scene and energy effects to the weapons to create the feeling of action and excitement. #video #advert #animator
uniE608 Vauxhall – GDPR Email Headers
Due to the upcoming GDPR restrictions being placed in Europe, Vauxhall was contacting their customers to keep in touch with them to provide them with features and services which may be of interest to them. The emails themselves required animated headers, which were to have a playful take on similar road signs made famous by Banksy. The road signs had to be illustrated and then animated to bring them to life. Throughout the design process, I had to keep a track of file sizes as we had to adhere to limits to fit email guidelines. #animator #email #headers #gifs
uniE608 OnStar Seasonal Animation – Autumn
Working from rough storyboards, I had a lot of freedom to develop characters and styles for the animation. Based on similar watercolour styles used on static imagery for emails, I adapted the look and feel to work in an animated environment. The fast-moving textures and animated brush strokes made the whole animation feel like it was continually being painted as the story unfolded. Once finalised, I then adapted to five different European versions with their own titles and voice-overs in their respective languages. #video #explainervideo #advert #animator
uniE608 Cisco – Retail Social Posts
This video features selected animations produced for a Cisco social campaign on the theme of technology in a retail environment. The animations highlighted virtual reality, social sharing, sign-posting and notification alerts. Cisco shared these animations on its official social media platforms as part of its regular promotional programme. #video #explainervideo #animator #advert
    uniE608 Showreel - 2D/3D Motion Graphics
Here's my updated showreel, featuring new projects from the previous year. #video #advert #animator
    uniE608 36 Days of Type
36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their particular interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. A yearly open call exploring the creative boundaries of letterforms, where participants are challenged to design a letter or number each day for 36 consecutive days, as a global and simultaneous act showing the outcome of the ability to represent the same symbols from thousands of different perspectives. A project that aims to be a space for creation around typography and its endless graphic possibilities. These are my animated interpretations. #video #animator #3d #2d #aftereffects #cinema4d
uniE608 Microsoft – Surface it for your business
I was tasked with introducing graphics to amplify the video's message around creativity. Using After Effects to rotoscope objects and people in different scenes, I introduced creative flow lines, which intertwined with their environments. The flow lines themselves were created using Red Giants Trapcode 3D Stroke and were enhanced with a number of different effects. #video #advert #animator
    uniE608 Isometric Rooms
This is a personal project where I wanted to create a series of isometric 3D rooms, each with their own distinct environment. Everything was built and animated using Cinema 4D and then taken into After Effects for editing and additional treatments. #video #animator #3d #animation
uniE608 OnStar Seasonal Animation – Winter
Working from rough storyboards, I had a lot of freedom to develop characters and styles for the animation. uniE608 P&O – Disneyland Competition
This campaign was for a month-long annual competition organised by P&O Ferries in collaboration with Disneyland Paris. Children submitted homemade videos on a specific theme through P&O’s Facebook page and winners were decided at the end of the month. This year’s competition had the theme ‘You’ve Got Magic’ and the marketing campaign was to be relatively more polished than previous years. It involved creating the look and feel of a kids TV show combined with the excitement of X-Factor. Highlights of entries would be weekly but the announcement of the winner would be in a winners reveal video at the end of the month. I developed a video introduction that features an animated magic wand which appears on the screen and shoots magical particles at the camera, which I created using Cinema 4D and X-Particles. The particles then animate to form a silhouette of Mickey’s head, which again reanimates to form the title. The renders were then placed into After Effects for post-editing and colour correction. #video #advert #animator
    uniE608 TSB – Digital Signage
The project involved creating animated typography for the bank’s digital signage. It was necessary to create designs that would reflect the bank’s image and be capable of replication across all branches with different personalised messaging. Following strict guidelines, I helped push what was normally allowed much further by introducing TSB's secondary colour palette in ways that hadn't been used before. This really made some of the signage stand out more than it ever had previously. #advert #animator
uniE608 EasyJet – GDPR Explainer Video
With GDPR fast approaching, easyJet required an animation explaining how they use your personal data to enhance your experience when travelling with them and to provide you with better services. While the video is quite long in length and it was challenging to keep it engaging throughout, it was a great project to work on as it allowed to work on a number of different scenes. I was very happy with the end result. While animating in 2D, I also used the Cinema 4D renderer to extrude objects within After Effects, where 3D elements felt necessary. All character animations were built using rigs setup with the plug-in RubberHose 2. #video #explainervideo #advert #animator
