I am an illustrator whose works include Penny and the Stolen Chalice, Fluffles, Beebas, and Unicorns, and Sometimes It Rains. Inspired by the dynamic worlds of comic books, I fell in love with narrative art, a path that would define my career. Today I live just outside of Seattle with my beloved son, a socially awkward dog, and a cat who may or may not answer the phone if left alone. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Illustration and Graphic Design from Western Washington University, studied at Pacific Northwest College of Art, and I'm a member of the Society of Illustrators (New York / Los Angeles) and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. I contribute as an illustrator for A List Apart. _Website not available. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_

    uniE621 Teen Wolf
My agent asked me to create a postcard promotion piece based on difficult emotions. It’s a complex theme, and what is more complex than becoming a teenage werewolf? I’ve always loved werewolf stories, and this gave me the perfect opportunity. As we all go through the process of becoming teenagers, some of us have a very different kind of 'process.' For a teen wolf, emotional distress is only the beginning of trying to figure out your place in the world. And it certainly doesn’t help when your parents walk in on you during your very first full moon! illustrator
    uniE621 Middle-grade children's book, OSV Kids
Illustrated a middle-grade kids' book for OSVKids, a six-month project where I was responsible for creating 27 black-and-white spot illustrations for the interior, as well as a vibrant full-color cover. It was a rewarding experience bringing the story to life through my artwork and collaborating with the team to produce a visually engaging book for young readers. illustrator
uniE621 Children's Book: Fluffles, Beebas, and Unicorns
I created 31 illustrations, including cover, for this project. Thaddeus Reichley (Author): "Are you ready to go on an adventure? Well, I’ve got some rhymes to share with you! Some of these poems are just fanciful bits of my imagination, sparked from things I have seen or experienced. Others come from a special challenge I had with the kids of my former school. During our monthly assemblies, they’d give me four random words. What did I do with these words? Well, I turned them into poems! It became a magical game that lasted over ten years, resulting in dozens of silly poems. And you know what? It proved that inspiration can come from anywhere! So as you read through these poems, keep an eye out for the special challenge words highlighted throughout the text. Maybe you will be inspired to use these words to write your very own poems!"
uniE621 James and the Giant Peach
I've always had a weird reaction to Roald Dahl stories—weird in a good way. They can be dark and a little heavy-handed, but they never forget to throw everything out the window and just have fun. illustrator
