    249 Conversations

A conversation about who we are and an exploration of how literature has shaped our understanding of what it means to be human.

The project unfolds in three stages: a dialogue, a telephone call, and a publication.

Through this dialogue, the first issue of the fanzine explores the different stages of a woman’s life and examines how guilt has been embedded as a mechanism of control. By bringing together multiple voices, the project proposes alternative narratives that challenge and dismantle this inherited literary legacy. It was conceived as a space to pause, listen, and reflect on who we are and who we choose to become.

The project consists of a recorded conversation, a telephone call played through a rotary phone as a critique of technological acceleration and our increasingly digital ways of communicating, and finally, a fanzine that transcribes the conversation while exploring the construction of identity through editorial and visual language.

Moving between spoken word, physical interaction and print, the project invites the audience to experience identity not as something fixed, but as something continuously shaped by language, memory and the stories we inherit.
