    uniE621 Edith
A digital version of a screenprint I had done about a year ago for an assignment during college. The character is one of my own. Edith, a vampire with a taste for good blood and women.
uniE621 Lady Bugs - Key Image
Lady Bugs is a line of 3 fashion dolls I created for my senior thesis project, each ball-jointed doll exploring their specific fashion aesthetics and how those clothing choices reflect the bugs they truly are. They are all as poseable and as wiggly as their real-life counterparts with their many joints. While their outfits are loud, the little patch of the yard Roslyn, Polly, and Neo reside in is not. To create these dolls I referenced different decades of fashion, recent trends, and subcultures such as the 70s, cottagecore, and mall goth. Popular fashion-focused dolls currently in the toy market were also a source of inspiration. Different techniques were explored as the line evolved in making the dolls themselves, shifting from oven-baked clays to being 3D modeled and then printed in resin. The clothes are entirely handmade including the crocheted sweater. Creating these dolls from concept to actualization allowed me to get away from my usual workspace of being glued to a screen and build a more intimate relationship with my work in a more hands-on approach and enhance the skills I have as well as learn many more.
