Greetings! I think my body of work speaks volumes about my experience in the gaming industry, but here is a quick lowdown on who I am. I attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and earned a B.A. in English in 2011. I started freelance writing for a company called Examiner after that. I covered video games in various ways, from reviews to the news. The website closed in 2016, forcing me to look elsewhere. I was part of the launch team for a new website, TheGamer, in 2017, where I continued my gaming coverage. The parent company, Valnet, bought Game Rant in 2019, and I was slowly transitioned over to that team. When that happened, I started writing about TV, movies, and anime besides my normal video game coverage. I am now seeking new job opportunities as a freelancer or permanent contributor to your website. This may sound cliché to say, but I generally love freelancing. I feel blessed that I was able to turn my hobbies into work. It can be a struggle sometimes, like any job, but my passion keeps me fueled to keep going. I love writing, I love nerdy stuff, and I want to get my voice out there as much as possible. From my days at TheGamer and Game Rant, my specialties are in list writing, features, news pieces, and reviews. That said, as a freelancer, I have other skills as well to help in other jobs beyond writing about media. I have been managing my own YouTube Channel since 2011, and I am self-motivated to move forward on projects. I shoot my footage, write my scripts, record my audio, edit all of those things, and then post the final product on YouTube to then share across my socials. I’ve never had a team to help me with this, so it’s all up to me. Given that I am still writing and creating content in 2026, I would say I’ve gotten pretty good at managing my own brand. I regularly reach out to publishers and developers across all media to get new opportunities, so my communication skills are high as well.
