Hi! I'm Ying Hao, a final-year IEM undergraduate at NTU. I design interfaces, and can build them too, with my background spanning UX Research, UI Design and App & Web Development. I believe good design is simple, intuitive and enjoyable. No one should have to stop to figure things out, or dread coming back. I care a lot about how interactions feel, and how these micro-decisions come together to form an experience. When I'm not busy, I'm most often enjoying specialty coffee, inline skating and/or deep in a game I can't put down :)…

January 1, 2026 - Present
Conducted user interviews and unguided task-based sessions with 13 participants; performed hybrid card sorting and heuristic evaluation to revise IA and identify usability violations. Designed low-to-high fidelity prototypes in Figma; validated via usability testing to ensure core flows were intuitive and frictionless.
UI/UX Designer (Academic Project) at LTU-Exchange Module: ShelfLife (Graphical User Interfaces)
February 1, 2025 - May 1, 2025
Designed low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity screens in Figma for a food waste management app, covering inventory tracking, expiry notifications, and ingredient-based recipe discovery. Established shared spacing and alignment standards to maintain visual consistency.
UX Designer (Independent Project) at LTU-Exchange Module: Fore Coffee App Redesign
January 1, 2025 - February 1, 2025
Evaluated Fore Coffee app against heuristics across navigation, information architecture, and thumb zone accessibility; redesigned in Figma with goal-oriented tabs and a vertical sidebar. Developed Personas and User Journey Maps; validated high-fidelity prototype through peer usability testing.
Frontend Engineer Intern at Oyika
July 1, 2024 - December 1, 2024
Collaborated cross-functionally with UI/UX designers and frontend engineers across a 10-member team in an Agile/Scrum environment to build React Native screens for two cross-platform mobile apps, improving navigation clarity and payment flow usability. Led the direction and development of the company's design system in Storybook, partnering with UI/UX designers to define reusable components that enforced visual consistency across both mobile app. Automated promo-code generation in TypeScript and improved dashboard UI controls, cutting processing time from 60 min to 1 min (≈98% reduction, ≈60× faster).
