Carroll Chiramel is an Indo‑Canadian editor, producer, and director whose career spans the film industries of both India and Canada. A graduate of the Canadian Film Centre’s 2022 Norman Jewison Film Program, he began his journey in Mumbai’s film and television world before relocating to Canada in 2010. His cross‑cultural experience has shaped a distinctive storytelling voice reflected in acclaimed projects such as the audience‑award‑winning feature Under the Sun at the 2015 Mill Valley Film Festival, as well as films featured on Super Channel and Amazon Prime. His editorial work has earned international recognition, including seven awards for Forbidden Tikka Masala, the African Movie Academy Award for Meet the Parents, and a Fantasia Film Festival selection for Lu Asfaha’s Sight.
His films have screened at major festivals including the Toronto Short Film Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, Edmonton International Film Festival, and Milledgeville Film Festival. Carroll has also edited award‑winning series such as Potluck Ladies’, which won Best Series at SeriesFest 2024 and earned two Canadian Screen Awards in 2025, along with the CBC Kids animatronic series Go Togo and the Bell Fibe comedy 18to35. With a strong command of contemporary post‑production, he runs a successful studio in the Greater Toronto Area, offering editing, visual effects, and color grading services. His diverse body of work and dedication have established him as a respected creative force in Canadian cinema.
