I am Laetitia Bermejo Castelnau, an artist and illustrator with a rich multicultural background, born in Leeds, UK, of Spanish and French parentage. My creative journey began with a B.A. in Fine Arts at the Slade School of Fine Arts, University College London, and has since included extensive travel and work across Europe, Africa, and North America. My experience spans from painting, book cover illustration, theatre set and prop making, to mural painting and film set decoration. I mostly work with traditional hand-drawn and hand-painted methods, embracing the tactile process of creating art. For many years now, I have lived and worked in Mallorca, Spain, where I combine my passion for painting and illustrating while traveling and exhibiting internationally. Alongside my artistic work, I have also been involved in teaching, translation, and collaboration with authors on illustrated books, as well as caring for family and property renovation projects. I enjoy exploring new mediums but stay true to my hands-on artistic approach, savoring the joy of getting my hands dirty in the creative process.
