Hi, I’m Kirk Botula, an award-winning composer and principal songwriter whose evocative styles seamlessly bridge the worlds of film, television, games, and alternative music. I was a founding member and primary creative force behind The Affordable Floors, where I helped define the Pittsburgh music scene throughout the 1980s and 1990s with acclaimed albums like “The Sounding,” “Drumming on the Walls,” and “All the Things I Meant To Be.” My melodic sensibilities and atmospheric keyboard work have been recognized both as a band leader and an individual composer.
Drawing on decades of songwriting, production, and collaboration, my music is marked by richly layered textures, emotional depth, and a cinematic approach to storytelling. My compositions have featured in films such as “3 to Go,” “The Dirty Hands Man,” and “The Circle of Death,” alongside various shorts and independent projects. I continue to thrive at the intersection of visual storytelling and audio artistry, delivering impactful scores for contemporary media, games, and narrative projects.
