A polymorphic, genre-bending artist whose music spans club-oriented electronics, stage compositions for film, theatre and dance productions, and lushly arranged pop songs, Andrès Garcìa was born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1971. Over the past three decades, his work has toured internationally with the Alias, L’Alakran and Teatro Malandro companies; he has released a string of dancefloor-suited gems on renowned English and German electronic labels (Crosstown Rebels, Connaisseur, Treibstoff, Kalk Pets, Alphahouse); and has formed duos with cult figures of the electronic scene (AG/BG with Detroit Grand Pubahs, John Keys with Dandy Jack). In 2011, he founded the collective Andrès Garcìa & The Ghost, a polymorphous platform at the crossroads of music, theatre and visual arts. Collaborating with writers, video artists, choreographers, dramaturges and scenographers, the ensemble has created three productions — Haunted Love, Facial (VII), and Peu à peu devient pourtant plus que songe — alongside three albums: Haunted Love, Here Comes the Sun (2017) and A Welcome of Tears (2021). With The Dreamer, his latest project co-created with longtime accomplice Samuel Schmidiger, he invites listeners into a dreamlike landscape where electronic pop becomes both intimate and expansive. In 2024, this vision first took shape on stage at the Théâtre de l'Orangerie, a performance conceived as a prelude to an album expected in 2026. Beyond this, Andrès continues to explore sonic territories that drift between lushly melancholic textures, shimmering electronic landscapes, cinematic orchestrations, and pop songs tinged with intimacy — a sound world at once haunting and luminous.
