I'm Carlos Velandia, a Colombian filmmaker, editor, and producer based in Aarhus, Denmark. My practice spans film editing, curation, and expanded animation, with a focus on ecology, anti-hegemonic representation, and storytelling that expands what animation can be. I collaborate across disciplines to develop immersive experiences that challenge conventional narratives and bring intimate, non-human perspectives to the fore. My work has received international recognition, including nominations for the Academy Awards, BAFTA, Goya, and Lumen, along with prizes like the City of Uppsala Award in memory of Ingmar Bergman, the ZINEBI Grand Prize, and the Best Glocal Work Award at the Seoul International Media Festival. It has been exhibited at major institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum and Azkuna Zentroa, and screened at more than 200 festivals worldwide, from IFFR and Annecy to Havana and Bogotá.
