I am a highly experienced award-winning freelance photojournalist based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. I specialise in social, environmental and infrastructure documentary photography for a range of editorial, commercial and NGO clients, as well as accepting selected private commissions.
I work with a wide network of publications and agencies, and I teach and mentor photographers, sharing skills and helping others find their photographic voice. I am committed to storytelling with empathy, clarity and collaboration, producing work that informs, engages and inspires audiences.

Initially all photography was on Black and White film which I developed and printed in the darkroom. In the early 90’s I led the training and implementation of colour photography at the newspaper, including colour darkroom processing and printing. Then in the mid 90’s I led the training of digital scanning and in the early 2000’s the transition of the Daily News photography team to full digital photography.
