Hello, I’m Alison Steed, a journalist, editor and broadcaster specializing in personal finance. I spent nearly seven years on The Daily Telegraph’s personal finance desk, rising to deputy personal finance editor in 2004 before going freelance in 2006. Since then I’ve written for The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily and Sunday Telegraph, The Daily and Sunday Express, and The Sun, and I’ve appeared on Sky News and BBC Radio 2. I was the financial journalist behind Channel 4’s Superscrimpers for its first five series, and I’ve collected eight writing awards including Personal Finance Journalist of the Year four times in a row, along with a Living Legend award for campaigning on long-term care for older people.
Beyond journalism, I write website content and marketing material for major corporations, and I’ve helped with SEO and CMS-driven sites (WordPress, Joomla). I built MyMoneyDiva.com and worked on TheBusinessPowerhouse.com, among others. I’m also a triathlete and Level 2 British Triathlon Federation coach, running Tri Spirit Team with my partner and directing Tri Spirit Events. I’ve contributed to corporate writing and content strategy for clients like Aviva, Citigroup, Scottish Widows, PayPal, Allianz, Nationwide, and the FCA, and I’ve even written fiction. I love helping people and brands tell clear, effective financial stories.
