    I am Creating and sourcing the audio landscape, including atmospheres, Foley, and spot effects to support the narrative.
    Live Sound Operation: Mixing and executing all sound cues live during the performance on a Midas 32-channel mixing console.
    Cue Playback: Operating audio playback (edited by myself using Audacity) via a dedicated smartphone running WhatsApp Audio for cue triggering, fed into the console via an RCA to Aux cable connection.
    My goal is to use sound as a powerful, invisible character to enhance storytelling and create an immersive experience for the audience.

    As the on-duty Sound Technician, I worked with Senior Engineer Mr. Smith to diagnose the fault. He immediately escalated the issue and personally sourced and purchased a replacement driver. Together, arrived hours early post the show, we executed the repair, replacing the blown component and ensuring the entire audio system was fully operational before doors opened.

    The Result

    The show proceeded flawlessly for a full-capacity audience, maintaining the high standard of an Ovation Award-winning production and demonstrating effective crisis management under pressure.

    My key responsibilities for this project included:
    Operating the Midas X32 Console: Managed all aspects of live sound reinforcement for the jazz ensemble, which included multiple vocalists and live musicians.
    Sound Check and System Tuning: Trained by Sound Lecture to conduct detailed sound checks and tune the PA system to the acoustics of the Auditorium, ensuring optimal clarity and coverage for the vocal and instrumental arrangements.
    Channel Strip Setup and EQ: Configured channel strips for each input, applying precise parametric EQ to shape the tone of vocals, grand piano, bass guitar, and brass instruments to sit perfectly in the mix.
    Monitor Mixing: Created and managed separate monitor mixes for the performers on stage, ensuring they could hear themselves and each other clearly to deliver a cohesive performance.
    System Preparation: This console was part of the initial setup for the recitals and festival preparations. My work involved ensuring the entire signal path was flawless before the system was later replaced with the larger Yamaha TL5 48-channel console for the main festival events.
