I’m Mauricel Hall, a scholar-practitioner with decades of experience in higher education, theatre, and media. I’ve led large academic units as a dean and held senior academic posts, guiding programs that blend communication, arts, and intercultural understanding. I’m passionate about mentoring, inclusive education, and the power of storytelling to illuminate diverse experiences.
My work spans academia, theatre, and media. I’m currently developing a play about immigration in New York and New Jersey, grounded in ethnographic interviews with undocumented immigrants, and I’ve directed and written for Jamaica’s Graduate Theatre Company and various community stages in the U.S. I value collaboration across disciplines, community engagement, and lifelong learning, and I bring a hands-on approach to leadership, teaching, and creative practice.
