Hi, I’m Tom Atkinson—a jack of all trades, but a master of none, which I believe is better than a master of one. I’m an eternal optimist and a self-taught computer scientist who started in the early internet era, dabbled in online marketing, and evolved into a Full Stack Developer. In 2025 I graduated from a 32-week intensive Mission Ready bootcamp, earning a Diploma in Digital Technology Development and Design (NZQA Level 5). I’ve gained hands-on experience across modern stacks, typically Node.js backends with MySQL, Postgres, Oracle or MongoDB datastores, and frontends built on React, Vue, Ember or Svelte. Tools like Docker, GitHub, Figma and Trello were part of the learning journey.
Before COVID-19 I integrated The Rock Factory’s WordPress/WooCommerce API with the CurrentRMS rental management system via Zapier. I’m also a professional drummer and producer with seven albums and four international tours, and I bring the same creativity and discipline to my software work. When I’m not coding, you’ll find me on stage or behind a kit, crafting complex software design with the same rhythm and teamwork I bring to music.
