FPGA-based Perceptron for Network-Traffic Intrusion Detection at Personal project / Self-initiated

January 1, 2024 - November 27, 2025

Designed a fixed-point single-layer perceptron accelerator to flag anomalous traffic in streamed network feature vectors. Built a Python training script to learn and quantify weights, then deployed them to the FPGA. Implemented UART/USB interface + simple CLI to feed features and read prediction flags in real time; validated with captured traffic (Wireshark/Scapy). Outcome: hardware-accelerated anomaly detection with reproducible training/export and a CLI for live testing.
