From the mid-1980s I worked in Corporate Training, starting as part of BNFL's CBT commissioning team at Springfields and later at Sellafield. I began as a Programmer, then learned Graphic Design, Audio and Video Production, Instructional Design, liaising with Subject Matter Experts to create training content, copy, quizzes, supporting materials, and documentation. I also handled Project Planning and Management, Training Needs Analysis, product development, testing, final handover, and End User Training. In the 1990s I managed what was then Europe’s largest Digital Video Encoding facility, creating digital media for corporate training and retail clients. With the advent of the internet, I shifted to Web-Based Distance Learning and e-Learning, working across Europe, Scandinavia, and the USA on projects in Nuclear, Power, Financial, Legal, Aerospace, Pharma, Automotive, Lean Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Patents, and a variety of retail and entertainment products. This work helped me collaborate with people from all backgrounds and speak on a broad range of topics. In 2012 a friend and I launched a Community Radio Station, starting a twelve-year career in Internet Radio. I co-founded three stations, managed programme scheduling, archives, and on-demand facilities, and presented more than 2,700 radio shows. Since 2018 I semi-retired to care for my father, who later passed away in 2023; I managed Powers of Attorney for Health, Welfare, and Financial Affairs, and completed Probate paperwork. Since then I have continued to apply my skills in AI testing, voiceover, writing, and media production as opportunities arise.
