Mike Turnbull

I’m Mike Turnbull, a contemporary folk songwriter from Cumbria’s South Lakes. I craft songs rooted in stories, legends and landscapes.

I’m a multi-instrumentalist specializing in tenor guitar and mandola, and over the past eight years I’ve developed a distinctive modern folk sound shaped by narrative, place and melody. With 30+ years as a performer across rock, folk and acoustic music, I’ve released multiple albums, played festivals across the North, and I’m an active member of the Eden Valley Artistic Network.
