About

Hi, I’m Maddy Smeets. I’m a Dutch screenwriter. After earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Audio Visual Arts, I started working as an independent professional focusing on storytelling and meaning-making across different contexts (fiction, non-fiction, animation, short film, tv-series, etc.).

My passion lies in analyzing and shaping layered narratives—world-building, character psychology, and puzzling with structure. I’ve worked as a head writer, script doctor and scripts supervisor.
