Engin Tatlibal is a Turkish journalist based in port city of Izmir in western Türkiye. Having a degree in electrical engineering from Gazi University, he started his career in a local TV outlet. After reporting for national and local newspapers like Yeni Asir and Gozlem, he worked for the press office of Aegean Region Chamber of Industry. He attended the IVLP program on broadcast journalism in USA in 2011 and GRAV Investigative Journalism Seminar in Sweden in 2017 as a panel speaker on problems of press freedom in Türkiye. He served two years as the provincial vice-chair of Journalists’ Union of Türkiye. He has a book on sociocultural and economical history of Izmir city and two unpublished novels. Currently as an independent journalist, his main focus areas are economy, Eastern Mediterranean and Balkan politics, climate and commercial diplomacy.
