Originally from the UK, Fiona has a background in writing, directing and producing plays for her theatre company PERFORMING TARTS. In 2002 she moved to Australia and had twins, and once she’d recovered from all that she started developing her craft as a screenwriter. In 2011 she began having TV & Film projects optioned by several Australian production companies, and in 2016 received funding to attend the National Screenwriters' Conference from Screen QLD, who have also selected her to pitch a thriller feature to Roadshow films and two TV series to SBS. In 2017 her anthology THE FLIGHT was longlisted for the AWG's Prime Time competition and drama/thriller series 22 WEEKS was shortlisted for Screen Australia's Hot Shots Plus initiative and ScreenCraft's Film Fund, as well as the Screen QLD/Stan Development Initiative in 2020. The project also received development funding from Screen NSW last year. In 2018 she was chosen for Screen QLD’s RETOLD initiative, developing a thriller feature with US script consultant Wendall Thomas and in 2021 she became a member of the Australian Writers’ Guild QLD committee. So far this year Fiona has had her comedy-horror feature PREMENSTURAL TERROR optioned by director/producer Tori Garrett (LAST KING OF THE CROSS, THE ROOKIE), and her apocalyptic thriller NUMBERS GAME is currently a semi-finalist in the Emerging Screenwriters Thriller Competition.
