Hossein (Shahin) K. Taher

I am an independent scholar and filmmaker working at the intersection of film philosophy, aesthetics, and practice-based research. My work treats cinema as a mode of philosophical thinking with attention to representation, perception, time, and self-writing, and I combine teaching with interdisciplinary research that links theory to creative practice.

I have extensive experience in higher education teaching and lead ShahinFilms, where I pursue practice-based research that integrates theory, directing methodologies, and audiovisual experimentation. I also run ShahinFilms Drama Workshops, focusing on alternative dramaturgy, improvisation, and cinematic narratology.
