Hi, I’m Kirill Sakharnov. I was born in Moscow in 1978 and have been working as a film editor and director since 2006. In 2010 I founded SugarDocs, a production company focused on documentary films about human rights that resonate with broad audiences and international festivals. Since 2023 I live in Warsaw and continue my work across international festivals, human rights organizations, and mentoring emerging editors through workshops. Based in Warsaw, I edit and direct projects that promote liberal values, collaborate with journalists and NGOs, and mentor editors through international documentary film workshops. My work has earned awards including a special prize named after Václav Havel at the Los-Angeles International Film Festival and the Moscow Helsinki Group Prize in 2019.
