I am Adriano Pizzella, a research scientist and PhD based in Geneva. I am trained to design and perform experiments in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry. My thesis focued on PQN-59's role in cell division and protein homeostasis in C. elegans during early development. This work combined biochemistry, microscopy, and data analysis to uncover how cellular processes are coordinated at the organismal level. I enjoy solving problems, analyzing data with tools such as QuPath, ImageJ, GraphPad Prism, Excel, Word, and presenting results in clear, compelling graphics. I've designed experimental protocols, supervised Master students, taught courses, and organized scientific events like the 2023 PhD Retreat at the University of Geneva. I also participated in to the science noght 2022, educating the public about reaserch in Biology by displaying the techniques and utensils scientists use to answer difficult scientific questions. Outside the lab I love rock climbing, trail running, and mountaineering with the Swiss Alpine Club.
