I am a film director interested in observing familiar systems from unfamiliar angles. My work focuses on individuals operating within highly structured industries, exploring how ideals are constructed, internalized, and maintained. In <The Ideal Idol>, I approach the idol industry not through spectacle, but through quiet observation—shifting the camera away from performance and toward the systems, routines, and expectations that shape the subject’s everyday reality. Rather than explaining or judging, I aim to create space for the audience to recognize tension, contradiction, and silence within the frame. Also, I directed <I’ll Protect Mom> and it was officially selected for the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, marking its recognition within a curated international festival context. As a director, I prioritize perspective over conclusion. I believe the role of documentary is not to provide answers, but to reframe what we think we already understand.
