I am Telma Veríssimo, a professional photographer born in Faro in 1973. Since 1993 I have worked as a photographer, studying at ESAP in Porto and returning to the Algarve to collaborate with regional and national publications and public institutions. My work emphasizes environmental preservation and the culture of the Algarve through documentary and artistic projects. I have produced images across a wide range of photographic fields, including concerts, theatre performances, portraiture and event coverage.
Alongside my photography, I have taught since 1995 and produced long-term projects that became books and traveling exhibitions, such as Sagres – O Começo and Passeio Público, and more recent documentary series Interior Journey and TRECHOS. I am passionate about sharing Algarve’s stories and connecting with communities through image-making and collaboration with artists and institutions across Portugal.
