T Nelson
Animator and Motion Designer with an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts — and a BFA in Illustration and Animation from RISD. My foundation combines motion graphics and character animation, with a focus on how movement carries meaning, whether organic or comedic, how things move tell a story. I studied under Jules Engel, who designed the mushroom dance in Fantasia and worked at UPA. Backed by 10+ years of professional experience in Animation and Motion Graphics.
I’ve worked across entertainment, healthcare, education, and financial services for clients including Fidelity Investments, Cengage, Wolters Kluwer, Pearson Education, Lexia Learning, Mass General, Raytheon, and Keurig. As sole animator on Lexia Learning’s “Better Together,” I earned a first-place Ragan Video Award; as a contributor to StoryCorps’ “Traffic Stop,” I’m part of an Emmy-winning team. I’ve also directed and animated 7 independent short films, several award-winning.
What sets me apart is how I use motion and pacing to tell a story. I bring my experimental animation background together with character-driven craft to find new, unexpected ways into a narrative — whether that’s a commercial project or something more personal.
