I am Nicholas Van Fossen.
Audio Engineer | DSP Researcher | Studio Operations Specialist
I am a Nashville-based audio engineer and researcher specializing in the intersection of digital signal processing (DSP) and high-end studio production. I am currently a Master of Science candidate in Audio Engineering at Belmont University, combining rigorous academic research in psychoacoustics and linear systems modeling with extensive hands-on experience in premier recording environments.
As a freelance assistant engineer at Curb Studios, I have helped with large-scale multitrack sessions for national touring artists, including Cody Johnson and Aaron Lewis. I know the full production lifecycle, from routing complex signal paths through consoles to managing the logistical demands of high-profile studio operations. Most recently, I served as Co-Producer for Hunter Cazz’s single, “Advantage,” where I oversaw the creative and technical transition from initial demo to a commercially competitive master.
I am great at auditory perception. My unique hybrid of technical mastery and creative intuition allows me to solve complex sonic challenges while maintaining the emotional integrity of the artist’s vision.
