I'm George Terry McDonald, a multidisciplinary artist living in Asheville, North Carolina. For more than 25 years I've written, recorded and performed original music as a singer-songwriter, releasing five albums and touring the country solo and with my band, The Zealots, opening for artists like Jonathan Richmond, Southern Culture on the Skids, and Dex Romweber. Alongside music I pursue visual art full-time, focusing on painting and drawing with exhibitions across Asheville and beyond. Since 2018 I have been creating in The Ramp Studios and teaching, while pursuing an MFA in Painting from USC and a background in English literature. My work blends landscape-inspired painting with collaborative storytelling across venues and stages.
