Industry Experience

Other
    paper Appalachian Tragedy

This is a live performance from my master’s recital. I am singing and playing mountain dulcimer live, while processing and performing audio transformations that I built in MaxMSP. Appalachian Tragedy is a piece about growing up and living in Appalachia and a rural community. Dealing with rejection and ostracization for being who you are. It is also about hoping for a brighter future and learning to love
    yourself.

paper The Forgotten Dead Documentary Score

    https://www.twine.net/signin

I wrote, mixed, performed the score for a PBS Western Reserve Documentary “The Forgotten Dead” about an abandoned mass grave in Akron Ohio. The music was made using synths, VSTs of Orchestral instruments and some live instruments like Guitar.

Throughout the movie you can hear a variety of styles like classic marching band, dissonant 20th century strings, as well as cinematic pianos and more minimal textures.

paper Vocal Fold - Multi Media Piece for VU Symposium 2023

“Vocal Fold” is another piece exploring my current interest in voice, technology and gender. All the sounds were initially my own voice. The
piece was inspired by my speech therapy and the vocal function exercises that I practice for muscle tension dysphonia. The source
material for the video is of my own tired larynx. While the sound space is rather surreal and blending between worlds, the overall arch is
the transformation from organic to digital but the process isn’t entirely linear
this piece was originally written for and premiered at the 2023 VU Symposium.

    paper ReCycle~ Sound Installation

September 2024 Commission: For the Philharmonic’s annual symphonic
stroll event, I was commissioned to create a featured sound installation.
“ReCycle~” was a multichannel, generative, MaxMSP program
incorporating environmental sensors. Built to go alongside “The
Conversationalist” by Chakaia Booker at the Josephine Sound Sculpture
    Park

ReCycle~ features Rubber Samples and custom FM synthesis alongside custom audio processes and randomization controls.
