In his late teenage years, Panama started to write his own songs, which he first looked at as poems and would use them for homework assignments in English class. After high school, Panama attended the University of Maryland where he majored in finance. In his free time, he co-hosted a radio show, was part of a dance group that performed at college event intermissions and was Entertainment Editor of the school newspaper. Panama gave corporate America a try in Maryland and was quickly called to the arts which chose him long ago. Shortly after, Panama returned to New York to pursue a career in the arts. Panama Redd has studied with Gabriel Berberich, Michael Horn, Malik Yoba and Anthony Abeson. He became a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in 2005.
