Hello, I’m Henri Salonen, a composer and sound designer with 25 years in the music scene and 12 years crafting scores for film and performance abroad. I’m driven by translating a director’s vision into a vivid sonic world while maintaining my own compositional voice, and I enjoy collaborating across cultures, businesses and personalities to bring projects to life. In 2024 I scored Koston Enkeli, a Finnish feature horror film, seeking earthy tones through traditional folk instruments. My work spans Urkujen Synty (2023), a documentary about Helsinki’s unique organ build, Alone (2021) about Afghan refugees settling in Finland (featuring Armenian duduk), Running the Roof (2020) in Tajikistan with Middle Eastern flavours, and Fairy Time Phonics (2016) — a UK children’s pilot series — all underpinned by MFA-level training from the Film Scoring Academy of Europe. I love blending earthier textures with modern color palettes to support powerful storytelling.
