This is a short story I wrote inspired by real-life experience, and I decided to drop it here just to share what my mind can create in its most natural state. It also shows how original my work is, even though it’s incomplete in this description. I hope it clearly indicates the potential in my writing skills that could be a wide collection of genres, not just exactly based on non-fiction, but a much wider spectrum, which I can only prove if given a theme or subject.
A DREAM STILL I REMEMBER
I was completely captured by the spirit of infatuation
when I met this girl. But a feeling in my conscious mind
told me she never felt the same. It was almost
something I could call love. But as time flew by, I
accepted that fate had separated me once again for the
most blessed reasons.
When I had a dream one night, I was so confused and
amazed by what it could mean. “Dreams are just
dreams,” my mother sometimes said.
It was a girl—the one girl who might be the one. The
one who lives and smells like the perfect aroma.
Everything felt easy, free, and at peace in this dream,
and it almost scared me. She was in the same bed I was
in, and she was looking at me naked. Not because we
had just been intimate or were about to be, but because
it felt so natural.
She was talking, and I was listening. I was confused and
Kind of impressed by how I got to this level, but not
Really surprised either.
When she spoke, she looked me dead in the eyes, and I
couldn’t look away even if my life depended on it. But
just a while after this connection, we seemed to be so
used to naturally sharing that it was interrupted by someone
outside the room. I can’t remember who was speaking
or what they were saying, but all I know is I had to get
up and get going.
She leaned back on her pillow and held my arm as I sat
up to leave.
When she leaned towards me for a kiss, I felt so happy
Inside that, I still can’t believe there wasn’t a single peck
of pain in my heart or damage at that moment. I leaned
over to her too and reached for a kiss, and when I did…
I guess my mind became more conscious and woke me
up.
