I was born and raised in Brazil. Got my first acoustic guitar at age 7 and started taking lessons at 8. At 12 I came across the catalogue for a music school in Hollywood called Musicians Institute and knew then and there that’s where I wanted to go after high school. I moved to California in 1995. After finishing the one year program, I received the Human Relations award for the class of March ’95 and was nominated for Stylist Award. I also received a scholarship for another 18 months to further develop my studies. I began working as a professional musician in ’98, playing in the Brazilian music scene and at Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church in South Central L.A. and have since, performed, toured and recorded with a long list of artists from all over the world such as Gwen Stefani, Shakira, Sergio Mendes, k.d. lang, BTS, Mandy Moore, Enrique Iglesias, Snatam Kaur, Boyz II Men, George Duke, Earth Wind and Fire, India Arie and Gloria Estefan. I'm currently a member of Lionel Richie's touring band. I have written and produced music for tv commercials (Volkswagen – Japan, Yamaha Corporation and SMBC Bank, tv shows (RHOP, Dawson’s Creek), written cues for Everwood and Brothers and Sisters and the film First Daughter. I have worked with composers Gustavo Santaolalla, James Newton Howard, Blake Neely, Marcelo Zavros and Trevor Morris. I have performed with the L.A. Phil, produced a Latin Grammy nominated album by Argentinian songstress Claudia Brant and performed at the Carnegie Hall with Mayra Andrade. I have released two albums as an artist - Essas Coisas Todas (2014), listed as one of the top 10 best latin albums of 2014 by L.A. Times and Rolling Stones magazine critic, Ernesto Lechner and Só Palavras (2023), accompanying the book of poems Sem Palavras (Ed. Versiprosa)
