I am a biology researcher with a long-standing focus on spider taxonomy and functional ecology. My master thesis studied the Dysderinae subfamily and I described 12 new species across two genera. I planned to merge taxonomy with ecology and molecular biology in my PhD, aiming to construct a phylogenetic map of the Dysdera genus in the Aegean region using DNA from leg tissue. Funding constraints forced me to discontinue the PhD, but my work built a strong foundation in field sampling, specimen preparation, and taxonomic description. I also studied at Hacettepe University, and during my undergraduate program I worked at the Ecological Sciences Research Laboratory (ESRL) under Prof. Bülent Alten, where I learned sample preparation and analysis using BioDiver, Past3, and R.
Beyond taxonomy, I have over a decade of experience in clinical research and biotechnology. I have worked as a Clinical Research Associate at CROs, participating in study start-up, initiation visits, qualification visits, close-out visits, and routine monitoring, with exposure to RDC and RBQM. I have also built strong programming and data-management skills (R, Python, Past3, GIS, and various EDC systems) and have hands-on experience with tools like ArcGIS, Blender, Adobe Creative Suite, and GitHub. I am eager to blend ecology, molecular biology, and clinical research to drive interdisciplinary science.
