I am Shobhinya Karthikeyan, founder of Jayakshethra Arts in Singapore. I began learning Bharathanatyam at the age of 5 and completed my arangetram in 1993. I am an approved B-grade artist with Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai, and I have had the privilege of performing across India, Singapore, and Malaysia. My life goal is to spread dance knowledge and cultivate future generations of artists. In Singapore, I founded Jayakshethra to nurture Indian arts and Bharathanatyam. To date, more than 25 students have completed our eight-year Bharatanatyam program under my tutelage. My education spans Kalakshethra, Chennai, and an MFA from Bharathidasan University, along with broad proficiency in Indian arts, vocal music, veena, and speech and drama.
