    Work in progress website portfolio

If you follow this link, https://www.twine.net/signin you will land on my work in progress portfolio. I have included this rather than a project as I have invested an immense amount of time into this website.

This portfolio is a collection of various projects I have developed whilst being an academic and afterwards whilst I was working a professional role.

If you have any questions about the work that I have done feel free to get in touch and I would be happy to elaborate further.

    Big Pies, Small Tables
During the off Time in my first professional role, I've been working on a few side projects for various friends and connections. Some of them have materialised and some are still a work in progress. This project was one that materialised from a connection that is very close to my heart. After I moved back home, I started to drink in a pub I used to with my father who has passed away. Long story short, it had changed landlords since I had been at uni and my father had passed. luckily I knew the new landlords from being in the pub prior. Through drinking in the pub and mentioning my profession, I was asked to design a new t-shirt design for the pub as the landlords were not impressed with the options provided by the brewery they were tied to. For this design I picked elements that were part of the backbone of the pub, the name 'bumpy lane' (a brew specific to that pub) and the big pies, small tables ( a phrase that was bespoke to the food orientated trade of the pub and its lack of room due to it being extremely old). I began using illustrator to craft an ageless aesthetic to accommodate these themes. On the front I decided on a textured illustration of a barrel glass, an iconic piece of pub glassware that is still used in the pub. On the back however I took inspiration from biker jackets and their use of hierarchy in order to draw attention to logos and slogans which were bespoke to them. Furthermore, to seal the core identity of the pub into the design, I tweaked and edited a pre drawn design of the pub in order to signify what the t-shirt represented and stood for. The typography for the piece was decided based on a few factors, on the front it was decided by a pre-existing pump clip that was used to advertised the brew. However, the back type was designed to play on the old aesthetic of the pub as it is estimated to be one of the oldest buildings in the surrounding area (15th century first built). designer graphicdesigner logo branding
