This includes leading media strategy and press relations for the coalition’s joint campaigns and messages, and across key global events such as Davos and London Climate Action Week. Gemma also moderates and facilitates events, conversations, media interviews and fireside chats, including the book launch of ‘Becoming Nature Positive’ in live online broadcasts and our flagship in-person event in London, June 2025. Prior to this role, she served as a Communications Lead in the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Nature and Climate, heading communications for nature, with a particular focus on the ocean. In this capacity, acting as Head of Media constituted a major priority, including for the high-profile Friends of Ocean Action community. As a senior consultant over some years, Gemma has delivered a range of strategic communications work for a variety of international initiatives, ranging from the Luc Hoffmann Institute to Edwards Lifesciences; the work ranged from strategy and training to story development and press relations. She has also worked for Dreamscape as a motion capture actor, alongside voiceover assignments. She served as Head of PR and Artist Liaison at Oxfam GB (which entailed proactive media outreach and seeking coverage of emergency campaigns through creative storytelling); Executive Communications Manager at WWF International (managing press relations for the Directors General and Presidents of the organization); Communications Manager at WWF Mediterranean (running press trips for ocean campaigns, and managing press office matters); Account Executive at Hill+Knowlton; Press Officer at the European Environmental Bureau; Press Officer during the Olympic Games in Athens; among other roles.
